Indian pilgrims from as far as India will come to this holy place to seek blessing. Ring a bell???
Batu Caves also have another alternative name which is called "Batumalai Sri Subramaniar Swamy Devasthanam"
Super duper long.... let just stick to calling it Batu Caves.... hehe
Most pilgrims are here to pray to Lord Murugan which stands at the height of 42.7m.... Best of all, it is the WORLD TALLEST MURUGAN STATUE..... Malaysia Boleh!!!!!!!
A little FYI, did you know that it causes approximately 24 million ruppees to build this World Tallest Statue??? Not only that, the statue is made of 1550 cubic metres of concrete, 250 tonnes of steel bars and 300 litres of gold paint brought in from Thailand....(Quote Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batu_Caves )
No no no... that not all..... The limestone formation in the cave.... it is said to be around 400 millions years ago.... Imagine that..... I wonder during 400 millions years ago.... how does Malaysia looks like..... *curious*
From the bottom of the foot hill to the top... you can take the stairs.... which is around 272 steps. Right at the top of the hill there is another temple which pilgrims called it "Temple Cave"..... At the bottom of the hill, there is another 2 more temples.....
