Let me explain a bit first .........a little background story about me and this college....

Since like Primary 5 i fall in love with a Korean drama "Hotelier" ...... my fav actor at that time Bae Yong Jun ( Main actor in Winter Sonata) is one of the main actor in the drama.

 
I was so hooked onto the drama that I told myself that I wanna work in a hotel, so cool!!!!! Plus, at that time, i knew i don't want to spend most of my life as a OL (the normal 9am to 5pm thingy..... so dull)...... with only 150cm at that time i knew i wont grow much anyway.. what to do... my genes from both my parents are short..... and i accept my fate when i was that age ( See understanding what... i never blame them)

Fast forward to like when i am in Form 5, my mom know my interest in Hospitality and she didn't argue or disagree with my choice of career... what to do right... all you want is for your children to grow up and do what she enjoy doing right???? My dad kinda disagree with me.. saying that it is not a good place to work and bla bla bla.... the usual parent talk la.... One day when i was preparing for my pra-SPM, my mom came across this college advert in The Star newspaper... one of their representative is coming over and people who are interested can drop by and get to know more about SHMS....

Therefore, my mom insist that i go and listen to those people...... with them of course. That how my parents found my future college ( at that time).... my journey towards hospitality begin through there....

Ok.... story ended... let get to the main topic than... my college Swiss Hotel Management School....

Basically SHMS ( Let call it that way yeah..... all of d student called it that way anyway) is one of the leading hotel management school (a.k.a college in another word) offering student like us a wide range of academic programmes that will help us in our future career in hospitality..... Basically SHMS has 2 campuses..... one in Montreux ( Caux Palace which is where we study and stay) and another one in Leysin.... Difference between both????? Let me show you some pictures of my college which is the Caux Palace.. You can google SHMS Leysin campus.... get the pic from there.... I AM NOT A LEYSIN FAN HERE!!!!!!!

 Yup... that my college... during winter time. We actually have 2 intake during a year... The Summer intake which starts at February till June and the Winter intake begin during September till January.

Oh ya, Caux Palace which you can see over here... is situated on top of the mountain therefore, for you to get to the town (Montreux) you have to sit their train/ tram..... journey from Caux Palace to Montreux take about 30 Minutes....
Come on.... we are situated like 1000meters above sea level.... plus...is not a straight railway track you know.... there is lot of curves here and there... no worries... you wont fall over.... ^^

Oh ya.... not only that when you have enroll yourself as a student right... you will be given a student card.. you can have free access to the train.... no need to pay.... unless you forgot to bring your pass or already expired.... (the fee is already included in your school fee anyway)

See the mountains far away??? That is France..... so near right??? Evian village.... the mineral water Evian come from there... is a boat ride away.... Montreux and Evian is separated by Lake Geneva but is still close though....


On the way down to Montreux... to your left and right side, there are quite a number of residence houses.......not all trees and grass and stone only ok.... not so "kampung".. haha

Oh ya, did i mention that... Caux Palace is actually a Palace..... duh!!! it is in the name... One of the lecturer mention before... one of a Princess (Forget the country) use it for her Summer vacation....



During World War 2, it was a hotel... but it fall into disrepair.... ended up it is use to house civillian refugees..... Later it held interned escaped Allied prisoners of war...... In 1946, it was purchased and renovated by Moral Re-Armament organization (MRA), for use as an international conference centre to work on the reconciliation of European people.....

Oh ya oh ya.... it is also said that "Snow White and the Seven Dwaft" castle inspiration comes from there..... see...i told ya that a "Princess" stay there before.... didnt i....

Oh ya....before i end the post....For those hater that hate to wear uniform this is definitely not a place for you..... Monday to Friday during classtime... it is a must for all student to wear their uniform.... all student will be given one set of uniform for 1st year students... 2nd and 3rd year students will have to reuse their old uniform..... unless it goes missing or smth..... There are rules and regulations to follow as well... but let just leave it that way yeah.... i dont wanna get into too much detail and stuff....

Told ya we got to be in our uniform during class... that me being cheeky in class... haha...
